Plans revealed for four-storey hotel in Gregory Hills

Gledswood Hills could soon be home to a new 90-room hotel.

SAG Developments Pty Ltd have submitted a development application to Camden Council for the four-storey establishment at Lot 4/9 Gregory Hills Drive, Gledswood Hills.

The proposed $30 million hotel will be known as The Onslow, if approved.

Planning documents submitted to the council outlined the developers plans for the site located in the Gregory Hills Corporate Park precinct.

"The Onslow Gledswood Hills will provide essential room accommodation and purpose-built function centre solutions to the medical services within SOMA - the health, lifestyle, and education precinct that supports the rapidly growing Macarthur region of south west Sydney," the document stated.

"Gregory Hills Corporate Park's innovative masterplan incorporates SOMA Wellness, SOMA Lifestyle, and Camden Medical Campus."

The planning documents also stated that The Onslow Gledswood Hills would have "90 strategically-designed hotel rooms, along with a purpose-built function centre and a restaurant and bar/lounge area where guests can eat, meet, and relax".

"The hotel will also feature a pool located on level one which will be landscaped and designed to create a place of serenity and blissful escape for the guests," the document states.

"The property will include a function/conference centre that will allow the hotel to become a destination of choice not only for celebrations such as weddings and birthdays, but also for major corporate conventions, thereby supporting the growth of corporate travellers to the region.

"There will be four basement levels of car parking to accommodate both stages of the hotel development and patrons of the function centre."

The documents submitted to council also state that the car parking provisions were sufficient "to serve the proposed 90-room hotel development and the future expanded 150-room hotel development".

"It is noted that the subject site and the wider precinct which is generally referred to as the SOMA Lifestyle Precinct has been granted a development application approval (DA/2017/45 as modified) by Camden Council in December 2017," it stated.

"The original approval includes a concept plan approval for a 160-room hotel development on the subject site."

The documents also state that a future expansion of the proposed hotel is anticipated, with additional levels and 60 more rooms.

There will be a variety of accommodation options on each floor of the proposed hotel, with several room configuration options.

The total estimated cost of the development is $29,723,555.43.
