Consider yourself a bit of a green thumb? Want to help out your community?

Camden Council has an opportunity for you.

The council is giving locals the opportunity to show their local flora a little extra love and care by adopting their own street tree.

The Love Your Tree program is open to the first 300 residents to register.

Participants in the program will receive a care package which includes:

  • Information on how to 'love your tree'
  • A bucket
  • Tube stock plant
  • A certificate
  • Gloves

Residents have already been caring for street trees for a number of years, and this program gives the council a chance to make it official.

Street trees are valuable assets that contribute to the amenity of an area and have a range of benefits for residents, the council said.

The new trees will line streets thanks to the Greening Our City Program funded by the NSW Government in association with Local Government NSW.
