One of the many impacts on Aussie life as a result of the COVID pandemic has been the flight of people from the city to the country.

And the migration is continuing, as citysiders relocate to the regions in large numbers to live, work and enjoy the benefits of a country lifestyle.

The latest domestic migration data from Commonwealth Bank and Regional Australia Institute shows an ongoing trend of more Australians from capital cities making the move.

According to the June quarter Regional Movers Index, there was an 11 per cent rise in the number of people moving from capital cities to regional areas compared with the June 2020 quarter.

Sydney had the highest share of net capital city outflows at 49 per cent and regional NSW picked up the largest share of net migration into regional Australia (34 per cent).

John Grey, General Manager at leading Regional NSW real estate developer MAAS Group Properties, said the company had experienced a surge in demand for new homes from buyers relocating to the fast-growing western NSW regional hub.

"They're being drawn to the area for so many reasons," Mr Grey said.

"It offers more affordable living, strong career and business opportunities, plus more relaxed lifestyles. They know they'll spend less time commuting if they have to go into an office. They will have more time for themselves, their families and friends, and be living in beautiful natural surrounds.

"With more people working from home, they're realising they don't need to be in the city, they can have everything they need and more in regional Australian cities such as Dubbo, Orange, Mudgee and Tamworth here in Western NSW."

MAAS has been heavily involved in helping more people get established in regional communities as a major developer of some of the most significant new housing estates in the area's regional communities.

The projects - which include both land and house and land packages - include Southlakes Estate, Magnolia Estate, Lakeview Estate and Keswick on the Park in Dubbo, Bombira Estate, Logan Estate and Highland Estate in Mudgee, and Westwinds Estate in Orange.

"We also have recently released expressions of interest for land in our newest estate, Eagle View in Tamworth," said Mr Grey.

"We offer an extensive range of residential land across our estates, ranging from 400 metres square through to 2000 metres square. MAAS provide opportunities to build dream family homes in sought-after communities, all within minutes to town conveniences.

"With both high quality all-inclusive house, land and landscaping packages or custom-build options available, we're proud to offer strategically-designed and master-planned estates boasting enviable lifestyles of choice."

With so many incentives available for First Home Owners especially, there is no better time to relocate regionally. Take advantage of the Government's $10,000 First Homeowner Grant, free stamp duty, and five per cent deposit offer under the First Home Buyer Deposit Scheme.

Belle is one of the many hundreds of customers who've purchased their first home in Dubbo with the help of MAAS.

"As first home buyers, MAAS made sure we understood every step of the process and they were very clear with their communication," she said.

"The whole team at MAAS were amazing at trying to get the closest options to fit our budget so that was really important for us. We're so happy with the end result."
