Kylie Baker had just finished 11 years working at McDonalds and was looking for a new job.

"Something a bit different," the Narellan Vale local said.

"I saw a Big W job advertised in the paper and well the rest is history."

Ms Baker, who grew up in Warwick Farm, has been working in the Liverpool store since it opened. On Tuesday, September 7, Big W Liverpool turns 15.

She said she has worked across many different departments including night fill, hard goods and consumables (household goods) and now Kidswear.

Ahead of the store's milestone she recreated the photo she was part of for the Liverpool's first store catalogue in 2006.

When asked what's the best thing about working at Big W, Ms Baker said: "The team at Big W Liverpool is by far the best thing about working at Big W. The team make it easier to turn up to work every day. There's a lot of us, maybe over 200 people in the team but we are like one big family."

COVID-19 restrictions have curtailed birthday celebrations at the store.

The store is closed but customers are still able to purchase products online for click and collect or direct to boot.

"But we will still make sure we celebrate, perhaps we can put some balloons up and maybe even have some COVID safe snacks," she said.
