These restrictions are really hard on us all. The social and economic impacts are devastating for many. I do believe these restrictions are unavoidable given that the Delta variant of the COVID-19 virus is three times more contagious than the variant experienced last year.

It is heartening to hear of how thoughtful of each other our community is being and how we are trying our best to ensure everyone is ok. We are resilient. We are Aussies and our fighting spirit no matter what is thrown our way is renowned worldwide.

We will come back from this and I have no doubt that optimism will be an integral part of our successful return to a brighter future.
