Human remains found at a Melbourne landfill have been identified as missing mum Ju 'Kelly' Zhang.
Victoria Police confirmed the remains, found on Friday at a landfill on Bridge Inn Road at Wollert, have been identified by the coroner as the missing 33-year-old.
The missing person squad thanked the community for its support in the investigation and offered condolences to Ms Zhang's family, who have recently arrived in Melbourne from China.
Ms Zhang was last seen at her home on Winchester Avenue in Epping about 5.30pm on February 1.
When she went missing, the mother of one was believed to have been wearing a pink nightgown and pink slippers.
A 35-year-old Doncaster man was charged with one count of murder later in February.
A number of searches were conducted for Ms Zhang in the Heidelberg West and Alphington areas.
Police began searching the landfill on June 15.
Upon the discovery of the remains on Friday, Assistant Commissioner Bob Hill said officers had worked hard to provide answers to Ms Zhang's family and friends.
"We know this has been an incredibly difficult and traumatic time for them," he said.
"We hope that this will bring the closure they need and Ju can finally be laid to rest".
