The RSL is asking people to again light up the dawn this Anzac Day.
With many local Anzac Day dawn services either cancelled or subject to strict crowd numbers this year due to ongoing COVID restrictions, both RSL Australia and RSL NSW have invited people to pay tribute to the fallen from the safety of their own homes.
RSL Australia said while the public could choose to commemorate our veterans with a traditional dawn service at a local cenotaph, you could honour them from home.
"We are committed to safely honouring our veterans, past and present - whether at traditional services, or by commemorating personally at home," RSL Australia said.
"[You can] mark Anzac Day with a moment of private reflection at 6am in remembrance of those who have served and sacrificed for our nation."
RSL NSW said Light Up the Dawn was an idea that originated within the Australian community and was supported and promoted across Australia for Anzac Day last year.
Those wishing to take part were asked to light a candle and go to the end of their driveway, stand on a balcony or in their living room and listen to a brief commemorative service at dawn on Anzac Day.
"As the sun peeked above the horizon, the country stood united - in uniforms or pyjamas, wearing medals, poppies, and sprigs of rosemary - to let Australia's veterans know that their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten," RSL NSW said.
"Based on the tremendous community response to this initiative, the RSL will again encourage Australians to consider this one way that they can commemorate."
Like last year, those planning to Light up the Dawn are asked to go online and pledge their support.
RSL NSW produced supporter packs this year to help people get everyone involved and bring in much-needed donations to the Anzac Appeal.
All NSW-based donations will support veteran services delivered by its partner charity, RSL DefenceCare.
They also created a range of digital assets, including desktop screensavers, email signatures, banner images, social media images and posters which can be downloaded and used. To view them click here.
