OUTCOMES FROM NATIONAL CABINET
* Howard Springs facility near Darwin to expand its capacity for taking in overseas arrivals from 850 to 2000 within the next few months
* NSW has reported it is quarantining more than 3000 people a week. Queensland and WA are dealing with 1000 arrivals and SA 530.
* Victoria will make a decision soon on its quarantine plans, as 10,000 Victorians want to come home from overseas.
* From March 22, the Australian-made AstraZeneca vaccine will be available, which is expected to super-charge the national rollout to a million doses a week.
* To date there have been 70,000 vaccinations delivered, including at 241 aged and disability facilities.
* A Pacific worker pre-travel quarantine pilot program will operate in South Australia, with other states considering it.
* The federal government is still waiting on a detailed costed proposal on a private airport near Toowoomba being used as a quarantine facility.
* Work is continuing on improving coordination between the states on dealing with the changing risks from the pandemic, led by Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet secretary Phil Gaetjens.
* Since the start of the year there have been fewer than 20 people in hospital with COVID-19.
