A man has been arrested after allegedly leading police on a pursuit while riding a stolen motorcycle at Ambarvale this morning.
Campbelltown police were patrolling the suburb when they allegedly noticed a Suzuki motorcycle doing a burnout near Pickwick Way about 10.15am, they say.
Police say the rider accelerated along Dickens Road and into Copperfield Road as the police vehicle approached the bike, and the pursuit was initiated.
Police allege the rider completed a U-turn and headed back towards the officers before mountin a kerb and entering bushland. Police say this is when the pursuit was terminated.
PolAir reportedly assisted in the search for the motorcycle, tracking it to a house in Desdemona Street.
Officers attended the house, where police allege the man again rode towards the officers, before allegedly losing control and crashing into a house, they say.
While officers attempted to restrain the rider, a struggle began and the two officers were allegedly punched in the face, police say.
The 23-year-old rider was arrested and taken to Campbelltown Hospital for treatment, police say.
Inquiries into the incident continue.
