Western Australia will continue to keep COVID-19 border restrictions in place for both Queensland and NSW as it prepares to welcome back travellers from Victoria.
From Monday, Victoria will be classified a low-risk region with travellers allowed into WA provided they self-isolate for 14 days and get tested for the virus.
NSW and Queensland remain medium-risk states, meaning travellers cannot enter WA without an exemption.
Premier Mark McGowan said there had been no health advice yet suggesting those arrangements should be changed.
"Generally the eastern states are doing pretty well, Queensland and Victoria in particular," Mr McGowan said.
"New South Wales has had it ticking along for a while now.
"I just urge all states to get it under control as quickly as possible. That allows borders to come down."
In such a volatile situation, the premier said people leaving Western Australia should also be aware the situation could change quickly.
"You may well then have to quarantine or come home early and quarantine," he said.
"So just be careful. I know it's very unfortunate for many families and it's very disruptive and very unpredictable but we don't control it.
"The virus has a mind of its own."
WA reported just one new coronavirus case on Sunday, a woman in her 30s who recently returned from overseas.
She remains in hotel quarantine along with 13 other people with active infections.
