Police release CCTV footage of Eagle Vale carjacking

Police are appealing for public assistance following a carjacking in Eagle Vale last year.

Officers have now released CCTV footage of the incident.

Police say a 32-year-old man was driving his Hyundai Getz into a fast food outlet drive-thru on Gould Road, Eagle Vale at 1.30am on Sunday, December 20, 2020 when he was approached by a man armed with a handgun.

Police allege the man forced the driver out of the vehicle and drove away from the scene towards Dolomite Place.

The driver alerted nearby staff from the restaurant and police were contacted. He was not injured.

Campbelltown City Police Area Command officers attended and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The Hyundai Getz was located at Eagle Farm Reserve, Eagle Vale later that morning at 2.50am. Police say the car was seized for forensic examination.

Detectives have now released CCTV stills of a man who they believe could assist with their inquiries.

The man is depicted as being of a Caucasian appearance, slim build, dressed in all black, wearing ski goggles and a black face covering.
