Man airlifted out of Silverdale after explosion

A man was airlifted to hospital yesterday following reports of an explosion at a property in Silverdale.

Fire and Rescue NSW crews from Warragamba responded to reports of an explosion at Farnsworth Avenue shortly after 2.30pm on Sunday, July 12.

First responders found a man with significant burns.

Fire crews began first aid until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived on the scene.

After the man was stabilised, a Careflight helicopter transferred him to hospital.

Police and a crews from Silverdale RFS also responded to the incident.

Details of the explosion and the man's condition are unknown at this stage.
