Two adult children of murdered police informers Terence and Christine Hodson have settled a five-year legal battle with Victoria Police.
Andrew and Mandy Hodson have received a secret settlement over the deaths of their parents, who were shot execution-style in their Kew home in May 2004.
"Victoria Police can confirm a settlement has been reached in relation to a civil litigation matter relating to deaths of two people in 2004," police said in a statement on Saturday.
"Due to confidentiality reasons we will not be commenting further."
The payment to the siblings is believed to be a six-figure sum, The Herald Sun has reported.
The couple's third child, Nicola Komiazyk, was not involved in the lawsuit.
All three siblings have called for the inquest into their parents death to be re-opened. Victoria Police say that's a matter for the coroner.
In 2015 then State Coroner Ian Gray delivered an open finding into the deaths of 56-year-old Terence and his 55-year-old wife Christine.
It exonerated the force over claims it didn't do enough to protect the couple.
Both were registered police informers and had been offered places in witness protection, but refused.
Terence Hodson was due to give evidence against then drug squad detectives Paul Dale and David Miechel over a 2003 drug stash house burglary.
Miechel, who was caught fleeing the scene, was jailed while charges against Mr Dale were dropped after the Hodsons died.
Mr Dale and hitman Rodney Collins were both charged with murder over the brutal slayings, after underworld killer Carl Williams told police he acted as a go-between for the ex-policeman and the hitman.
Those charges were dropped after Williams' 2010 murder in Victoria's maximum security Barwon Prison.
Victoria Police has faced increased scrutiny over the Hodson double murder following the unmasking of barrister Nicola Gobbo as Lawyer X.
Ms Gobbo was recruited as a police informer shortly after the Hodsons were killed and named Mr Dale as a suspect in the murders. She wore a wire to a meeting with him to funnel information back to her handlers.
Mr Dale, who maintains his innocence, says he was set up by the prominent gangland lawyer who he believed was providing him confidential legal advice.
