NSW Darts Masters headed to Wollongong in August

Get ready to shout out "180" at the top of your lungs - professional darts is on its way.

The NSW Darts Masters will be held down the road in Wollongong for the first time ever this August.

The Professional Darts Corporation competition will be held over two days, August 14 and 15, at the WIN Entertainment Centre.

The event will see the sport's top stars clash with regional qualifiers.

PDC chief executive Matthew Porter said it was great to visit new locations like Wollongong, Townsville and Hamilton in New Zealand.

"We've travelled around Australia in recent years with the World Series of Darts and it's exciting for us to be visiting Wollongong and Townsville for the first time in 2020 to take these fantastic events to new audiences," he said.

"Both are strong sporting areas and this is a great opportunity to see the world's top darts players live in high-profile international tournaments.

"After [Perth star] Damon Heta's amazing achievement winning in Brisbane last year, all eyes will be on the local stars from Australia and New Zealand to see who can grasp their opportunity to claim glory alongside the biggest names in darts."

Top darts talents like world champion Peter Wright, world number one Michael van Gerwen and women's sensation Fallon Sherrock will be in attendance at the event.

Established Aussie professional darts players Simon 'the Wizard' Whitlock and Kyle Anderson can also be expected.

Tickets go on sale on Wednesday, March 11 from www.pdc.tv/tickets.
