Dairy Farmers recall two milk products due to safety concerns

Lion Dairy and Drinks has recall of some of its Dairy Farmers full cream white milk products due to potential microbial contamination (E. coli).

This is a food safety issue.

The company immediately moved to recall the products from market as this may cause illness if the product is consumed.

The products that have been recalled are:

  • Dairy Farmers Full Cream 3 Litre white milk - with Use By date of: 24/02/2020
  • Dairy Farmers Full Cream 1 Litre white milk - with Use By date of: 25/02/2020

The impacted products were manufactured at the Lion Dairy and Drinks' Penrith dairy manufacturing site and have been distributed for sale across New South Wales through Coles, Woolworths and IGA stores and some independent outlets (i.e. milk bars, cafes and convenience stores).

There have been no consumer complaints to date regarding these products.

This recall does not impact other Dairy Farmers dairy products made in New South Wales or in other states.

"Lion Dairy and Drinks is committed to the highest standards of quality and safety and consumers and customers can be assured that we are undertaking a thorough investigation and will put in place steps to mitigate it happening again," a statement from the company said.

"We encourage anyone who has consumed the Dairy Farmers 3L or 1L Full Cream white milk product with the respective Use by Dates and made and sold in New South Wales and who feels unwell to seek medical advice as required."

Anyone in possession of the impacted products should not consume them but dispose of the product and call the Lion Dairy and Drinks Consumer Enquiries Centre on 1800 677 852 for a full refund.
