Sydney Thunder's internationals Alex Hales and Chris Morris will be quite a few kilometres away from the coast on Australia Day when they play in their team's must-win BBL match against the Perth Scorchers, but they'll be able to at least see the beach from their positions on the Sydney Showground Stadium.
This summer Thunder fans have watched the game from deck chairs which have allowed them to wriggle their toes in the sand on Mazda Beach.
It's been a hugely popular vantage point, and for Morris and Hales it has perfectly demonstrated the love Aussies have for two of their favourite past times - the beach and cricket.
"It's incredible," said Morris of the ground's man-made beach.
Meanwhile, the team's captain Callum Ferguson has urged the Thunder Nation to rally and get behind his team when they play their final - and must win - regular season match against the Scorchers.
"We're really looking forward to our Australia Day game against the Perth Scorchers at Sydney Showground Stadium," said Ferguson.
"It's a really exciting fixture for us... hopefully we'll get a win and push towards the finals.
"I always say that Sydney Thunder fans are the best in the country, so get down to Sydney Showground Stadium for the last minor round home game of the season and we'll look forward to seeing the sea of green."
