It's getting harder and harder for young people to enter the housing market, but thanks to a massive radio giveaway, this isn't something Christopher and Sibel Lane have to worry about.
The Liverpool newlyweds were this week shocked to find out they'd won a Catherine Park Estate house and land package and a new car.
The pair, aged 22 and 21 respectively, were the lucky winners of KIIS 1065's Set You Up For Life competition and will soon call the estate - located next to Oran Park off Camden Valley Way - home.
The competition, run by radio hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jacki O, saw more than 1000 people descend on their Australia Radio Network headquarters in the hopes of winning big.
Listeners had to keep an ear our for a key song in the days leading up to the giveaway for their chance to win a key to a prop door set up at the radio headquarters.
The person with the winning key would win the four-bedroom Hoot Home, $30,000 worth of Amart Furniture and a brand new car for the driveway.
Mr Lane said he couldn't believe it when he tried the key and was successful.
"It was just so surreal, I couldn't believe it," he said.
"Our families were all crying, they were so happy for us.
"It hasn't really even sunk in yet, so I think they're even more excited than we are."
Mr Lane said he had trouble getting phone reception when he originally rang through to the radio for his chance to win, so ending up the successful listener was a crazy thought.
Mrs Lane said they only recently got married - on November 24 - so winning the competition had truly set them up for their new life.
"We've been struggling so hard, it doesn't even feel real," she said.
"This is life-changing for us.
"I couldn't believe it when we tried the key and all the confetti came down.
"I can't wait to start our new life."
Mr Lane, a wall and floor tiler who has frequently worked in the "beautiful" Macarthur area, said he didn't know anyone his age who was already in the housing market.
"Even my dad doesn't own his own home and he's worked hard all his life," he said.
"We've just been trying to figure out how we could save to buy a house in five years, which we'd pay off over the next 30 years, so this is crazy."
Mr Lane said he was a big fan of travelling and he was thrilled he and his wife no longer had to choose between saving for a house or a holiday.
Mrs Lane said she was so grateful to have won.
"I just want to say a big thank you to Kyle and Jackie O, to Hoot Homes and to all the other people that didn't win but were so lovely to us," she said.
"This means so much."
Sandilands said he was excited to give away the prize worth $750,000.
"I've been trying to do this for a long time and I'm excited we're finally doing it," he said.
"Believe it or not, the next thing we're going to do is going to be even bigger - it's going to be epic."
Jackie O said it was fantastic to be able to give away a "life-changing" prize.
"There's no better feeling than freeing someone of their mortgage or rent for the rest of their life," she said.
