Illuminated reindeer headed to Macarthur Square

If you're after a great festive picture for your Instagram this year, look no further than Macarthur Square.

The Campbelltown shopping centre is going all out this holiday season and will welcome - in an Australian first - 6.6-metre tall illuminated reindeer sculptures in Kellicar Lane.

The reindeer have previously been seen in locations like Stockholm, Sweden and Dubai's Mall of the Emirates and will complement a giant 10-metre Christmas tree and lights strung across the outdoor area.

The exciting installation will be officially opened on Friday, November 22.

Macarthur Square has a range of other Christmas activities to delight shoppers as they search for gifts this year.

Shoppers heading to the centre for Black Friday sales (November 29-December 1) can make use of free monogramming and embroidery services by simply showing their receipt from any Macarthur Square store.

The Kids of Macarthur Health Foundation also offers a gift-wrapping service for a gold coin donation for when you've got your presents under control.

The traditional photo with Santa is a staple of any shopping centre Christmas experience, but hasn't always catered to every festive fan in the community.

That's why this year Macarthur Square is offering 'sensitive Santa' photography sessions for families with children who have sensory issues. These sessions will occur before the Square's general opening hours and will provide children personalised time with Santa and his friends in a calm environment.

There are also special photography sessions available for your Santa-loving pets.

In addition, the shopping centre will be abuzz with carollers, jazz bands, roaming entertainment and more throughout December.

Macarthur Square centre manager Trevor Hill said he wanted to make sure there was something for everyone to enjoy this festive season.

"Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, and we wanted to make sure that no one in the family misses out on experiencing the magic and excitement of the festive season," he said.

"That's why we're supporting families with a wide range of inclusive activities and Sensitive Santa sessions.

"We have also thought of the family pet.

"We're especially excited about our giant illuminated reindeer and Christmas tree - a first for Macarthur Square and Australia."
