Firefighters across the state have been putting their lives on the line to protect people, properties and animals during 'catastrophic' fire conditions this week.
Their bravery has inspired businesses across Macarthur, which have offered a raft of freebies and special discounts for our emergency service workers.
The Camden West Rural Fire Brigade dined at Camden's Enzo Italian Restaurant on Wednesday for free, and also enjoyed spoils from other local businesses like Pizza Spot and Antico Woodfire Pizza.
Enzo owner Pankaj Kumar said the business was honoured to help the firies out with a free feed.
"As the new owner of Enzo Italian Restaurant I understand how close-knit the Camden community is," he said.
"We are incredibly grateful for what our firefighters do.
"It was a natural gesture for me to offer to feed our local firefighters, and I'm so glad they took us up on the offer.
"It's the least we could do to say thank you for preserving our community."
The Camden West brigade posted on Facebook that they were incredibly grateful for all the generosity they had been shown.
"We would like to say a massive thank you to the community for all their support during [the] fire danger period," the post read.
"Camden West received the support of many locals and businesses who went above the call to donate and provide our firefighters on station with food and beverages throughout the day.
"Camden's generosity reminds us every day of why we continue to do this work and we won't forget what the community has done for us out of the kindness of their hearts."
EX Expresso in Gregory Hills was also offering a free coffee to any firefighter in uniform to enter their store.
Jetts gym in Gregory Hills has offered a free 24/7 gym membership to firefighters until the end of the year.
Community groups got in on the generous action as well.
First Camden Scout Group made sure the Camden West RFS was well-stocked in their station.
"After having numerous visits with the scouts to the Camden West RFS and knowing how much they do to keep our communities safe, First Camden Scout Group donated an esky full of various soft drinks and lollies which they enjoyed with their pizza," said Valli Turner, First Camden Scout Group leader.
