A Campbelltown man has checked his Monday Lotto ticket to discover he's a millionaire.
NSW Lotteries officials had been trying to reach him for the past two days.
He was the only division one winning entry nationally in the Monday and Wednesday Lotto draw 3918, taking home a division one prize of $1 million.
The winner's entry also scored division three 12 times and division four 15 times, boosting his total windfall to $1,007,121.25.
Confirming his win with a NSW Lotteries official this afternoon, the winner revealed he had been missing the life-changing phone calls.
"Thank you so much," he said.
"I don't answer phone numbers I don't know, which is why I didn't answer yours.
"I decided to check my ticket last night. I'd completely forgotten I'd bought it.
"I couldn't believe it. I don't play very often at all but I'm so glad I did."
When asked how he'd enjoy his million-dollar fortune, the man revealed he'd be spending it wisely.
"I'm going to have to really think about how to enjoy this," he said.
"I'll likely invest the prize to begin with and maybe upgrade the family home.
"A holiday is likely on the horizon as well."
