Camden netball teams share victory at grand final event

The sun was shining as players, supporters and officials headed to Camden and District Netball Association's grand final day.

Narellan Sports Hub was decked out in a sea of blue and white balloons for the special event on Saturday.

The courts were alive with colour as every club in the association had a team competing in the 2019 Grand Final.

To add to the excitement, every club took away at least one premiership trophy making every club a winner.

Association president Lyndall Schuhmeier said she was delighted with the day despite hot and sticky conditions.

"It has been a great season, that has seen some incredible netball," she said.

"It was fantastic that so many teams left their best games for the day and we had so many supporters to witness them.

"Congratulations to all our clubs, who all have the experience of being grand final winners in 2019."

Appin, the newest team to Camden netball, secured one premiership and two sportsmanship trophies.

Benkennie claimed two premierships along with six runner-ups and sportsmanship trophies.

Bringelly took home five premiership cups, three runner-ups and two sportsmanship awards.

Camden RSL also boasted five premiership wins, three runners-up and four sportsmanship trophies.

Currans Hill earnt one premiership cup with five runner-up trophies and one sportsmanship award.

Douglas Park Wilton took out all four of the premiership awards they were eligible for.

Harrington Park had one premiership team with three runner-ups.

Macarthur had one premiership win and one sportsmanship award with two runners-up.

Mt Annan had two premiership winning teams, three runner-ups and won five sportsmanship trophies.

Oran Park claimed three premiership wins and two runner-up trophies.

Razorback took home three [remiership wins, two runner-up trophies and a massive six sportsmanship awards.

The Oaks, who only had one team qualify for the grand finals, claimed victory and also enjoyed a sportsmanship award.

The games varied with much excitement over some of the closer games.

A high scoring Junior Division One game saw the underdogs Bringelly Lightning (51) defeat favourites Razorback Ravens (50) by just one goal.
