Oran Park charity home project running smoothly

It's got a frame and a roof, and in a few short months this house will become a very special home.

Construction on the Kids of Macarthur Health Foundation charity house in Oran Park is now well under way and Fairmont Homes general manager Daniel Logue couldn't be happier.

The company has been partnered with Kids of Macarthur since 2010 and has previously built several houses for the charity at cost, which are then auctioned off with all proceeds going to benefit the children's ward at Campbelltown Hospital.

Mr Logue said he was delighted to deliver another charity house this year and couldn't wait for the Evergreen Drive property to be finished.

"Everything has been running really smoothly on this build," he said.

"We're happy with the stage we're at. The bricklayers are ready to start and the frame and the roof have gone in.

"We expect it will be complete in about 10-12 weeks."

Mr Logue said the generosity of Macarthur's tradies and suppliers - who have volunteered their time and donated goods for the project - went above and beyond.

"In the past we've probably had 70-80 per cent of all materials and trades we needed at this stage.

"But this time we've got 100 per cent covered.

"Some people might just be donating $1000-worth of goods, but every little bit counts."

Mr Logue said the house would be classic "Camden style" with all the mod-cons modern home-buyers expect.

"This will be a display-home quality build," he said.

"It's a 25-square house with four bedrooms and all the bells and whistles. It will be a great family home."

Mr Logue said Fairmont was proud to be involved with such a project.

"We do this to give back to our community," he said.

"Our kids were born in that hospital, we've been to the children's ward. Kids of Macarthur is Fairmont's number one charity for that reason."
