The search is on for Macarthur sport's dad of the year.

The annual Philips Community Sports Dad of the Year competition is ran nationwide in the lead-up to Father's Day.

The competition celebrates sporting fathers in Australia, both professional and amateur, who are great examples on and off the sporting field.

Nominees could include a dad that coaches his local junior team, or simply plays competitive sport each weekend.

The Community Sports Dad of the Year winner will receive a $5000 Rebel Sports voucher to donate to his club of choice for new sport gear or equipment.

To get involved, visit sportsdads.com.au/community and explain in 100 words or less why you think your nominee should win the award.

Nominations close on August 18.

The winner will be announced before Father's Day, September 1.
