Macarthur residents can't get enough of their foodie fix.

The region's largest food and wine festival AnnanROMA will be expanded from its traditional once a year format to being held every three months.

Campbelltown-based organisation Eat Shop Love founder Deb Brown, who organises AnnanROMA, said the expansion was made due to popular demand.

"There is a foodie culture which is supported and loved out here," Ms Brown said.

"We will now run the festival quarterly basis.

"It will be themed around each season as it will be held at the end of each season."

May 2019 marked the first time that Eat Shop Love organised the festival.

Ms Brown said a record crowd of more than 16,000 people attended that AnnanROMA festival. This year marked the first time the festival was held over two days, instead of the traditional one.

Ms Brown said at the time that AnnanROMA was extended to help ease queues and parking pressure around the festival.

"AnnanROMA is now 13 years old so we thought it needed a revamp," she said.

"We decided to spread out the festival and it just worked - it was a nice experience for visitors.

"We've plenty of positive feedback, with people saying they loved the variety of food, the festival layout and the activities for kids."

Ms Brown said the next two-day festival will be held on Saturday, August 24 and Sunday, August 25.

"We've had really good feedback. Demand has grown," she said.

"The event is traditionally held in April or May, so it's difficult to say if we will get similar attendance numbers this time.

"We are walking through unknown ground."

Ms Brown said the August festival would feature new market stall vendors.

"We want to give people something new and cool each time," she said.

"For example, we will have new vendors include a brewer from the Hunter Valley called Dusty Miner Craft Brewery."

The next AnnanROMA will be held on August 24 and 25 from 9am to 4pm at the Australian Botanic Garden, Mount Annan.

Entry is free and highlights will include live music and demonstrations, market stalls and a kids zone.
