Truck fire causes delays on M5 near Casula

There has been traffic chaos on the M5 Motorway this morning due to a truck fire near Casula.

Emergency service crews were called to the fire near the Hume Highway about 7am on Wednesday, July 31.

The blaze has now been extinguished, but city-bound traffic remains affected more than an hour later.

One eastbound lane is closed and traffic is queued back to St Andrews on the Hume Highway.

There are also delays on Campbelltown Road, Denham Court Road and Camden Valley Way, and southbound on the M7 for motorists trying to use the M5.

The M7 is queued up to 5km for southbound traffic.

Motorists heading towards the city are urged to exercise caution and expect delays this morning.
