Driver injured in Silverdale vehicle rollover

A man was airlifted to hospital following a serious crash near Silverdale on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency services were called about 4.30pm following reports that a man, age unknown, was trapped in his UTV (utility task vehicle) after rolling on Silverdale Road.

It is understood the vehicle collided with a tree. Part of the tree entered the UTV's cabin and struck the man.

Fire and Rescue NSW Narellan and Warragamba crews from Narellan and Warragamba worked to stabilise the vehicle and provide fire protection.

Firefighters then worked to free the man from the vehicle.

The driver was treated at the scene by paramedics before a NSW Ambulance helicopter arrived at Silverdale Road.

He was airlifted to Liverpool Hospital for further treatment.
