Muggles, it's time to grab your wands and put your thinking caps on.

Fans of the popular Harry Potter series are invited to test their skills in a magical new escape room in Campbelltown.

The "Escape from Azkaban Prison Harry Potter Escape Room" will be set up at Campbelltown's HJ Library in August.

All sessions have booked out, but have no fear - Campbelltown Council has announced it plans to run extra sessions.

Participants will need to work in groups of six to solve clues and get out before the Dementors arrive.

A council spokesman said participants would be required to solve a series of puzzles to escape from the notorious Azkaban prison.

"Participants have 20 minutes to solve the puzzles and make their escape," he said.

The free event is being held to celebrate Children's Book Week and marks 20 years since the release of the third Harry Potter novel, The Prisoner of Azkaban.

The first sessions will be held on Saturday, August 17, and from Monday, August 19 to Friday, August 23.

The council spokesman said extra sessions would be announced in the near future.
