Inaugural Macarthur Beer Day Out draws a crowd: Photos

Hundreds of people took the chance to relax and raise a glass to all things beer in Camden on Saturday.

Upstairs at Fred's held the inaugural Macarthur Beer Day Out which attracted hundreds of people who were keen to try some unique brews.

Punters could try a berries and cream beer, or drink a cold one that tasted like coffee and doughnuts.

The event featured local brewers such as Picton Pale Ale and Cedar Creek Cider, and three times Camden Show grand champion homebrewer Michael Hodge, as well as popular craft brewers including Stone & Wood and Wayward Brewing Company.

Venue owner Steve Wisbey said he was delighted with the response at Saturday's festival.

"We had so many different beers that people had never seen or tried before - it was a beer appreciation day," he said

"It was really good and there was a great atmosphere, both inside the venue and out of the back deck."

The event was also held as a fundraiser for Cancer Council NSW and Macarthur cricketer Joel Rush, who is preparing to head to the UK for a tour.

Punters dug deep on Saturday, raising more than $2000 for the two good causes.
