Here's your chance to hedge your bets on a good cause.

Wollondilly residents and businesses and friends will have the chance to back a winner at the Mayor's Charity Race Night on Saturday July 20 - and help raise funds for the Kids of Macarthur Health Foundation in the process.

The event, to be held at Club Menangle from 5pm to 10.30pm, will see all proceeds going to the local children's charity.

Wollondilly mayor Matthew Deeth said it would be a great family-friendly night out.

"I encourage everyone to bring along their families, their work colleagues and their friends and join me for a great night of entertainment for a worthy cause," he said.

"The foundation is dedicated to improving health care provision for every child living in our region.

"Having this equipment available locally often eliminates the need for parents to transport their sick children outside of the region to receive specialist health care."

The Kids of Macarthur Health Foundation aims to purchase the most up-to-date paediatric medical equipment available to enhance the level of health care offered for young people across the region.

The Foundation helps to fund equipment for the paediatric units at Campbelltown and Camden hospitals, including the Children's Ward, Paediatric Ambulatory Care, Paediatric Emergency, Special Care Nursery, Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Maternity, Delivery and Post Natal Units, as well as supporting many children's community health programs.

Tickets for the event are $130 each, or $1200 for a table of 10.

They include entry, a race book, an all-inclusive buffet dinner and drinks, entertainment, racing action and prizes.

A variety of sponsorship opportunities are also available.

Cr Deeth has called on local businesses to consider getting involved to support a great cause.

"If businesses are unable to take out a sponsorship they may wish to donate prizes for the raffle and auction," he said.

"Donations of in-kind support are also welcome and will be used for the major raffle on the evening."

Tickets are now on sale at www.trybooking.com/BDBVZ or through Wollondilly Council.
