Narellan racer Ayden Elliott has powered his way to an impressive result at a prestigious competition.
Elliott clinched third spot at the recent Australian Compact Speedcar Title at Nowra Needway.
In only his second full season in the class, Elliott qualified for the feature race in fifth position.
The Macarthur driver was able to advance his way through the field to snare a third place finish in the 25-lap event.
Elliott, 22, said he was proud to finish third behind two of the country's best compact speedcar racers, Mark Heaton and Justin Paull.
"I feel that the team and I are continuing to make gains with our race car and this is reflected into our results this season," he said.
Elliott thanked his support crew for putting in a lot of hard work ahead of the event.
"We went over my car from top to bottom leading up to the Australian title and we managed to make a number of improvements to it," he said.
"I feel that was one of the keys to our result.
"A big thanks to Adam Wray for all of his help leading up to the Australian title and also on race night. It was a lot of help and it was certainly appreciated."
Elliott's next outing will be at NSW Club Championship round at Cullen Bullen Raceway this Saturday night.
He will then compete in an annual memorial race meeting at Bega's Sapphire Speedway on May 11.
