Minto's Altaf Hossain has been arrested and charged with murder after his wife's body was found in their home on Sunday morning.
Emergency services were called to a home on Carruthers Street, Minto, about 4am on Sunday, April 21 after a woman's body was found in the garage.
The woman has been identified as 33-year-old Syeda Hossain - Mr Hossain's wife.
The 49-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Campbelltown Police Station for questioning.
Mr Hossain was then transferred to Fairfield Hospital where he received treatment for a hand injury.
On his release from hospital, Mr Hossain returned to Campbelltown Police Station and was later charged with murder.
He was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court today (Monday, April 22).
Local detectives were assisted in the investigation by the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad.
Campbelltown City Police Area Command officers established a crime scene at the home, which was forensically examined.
Two children, aged six and 10, were found asleep and unharmed in the home.
Police said the family had no history of domestic violence, and authorities were trying to find alternative arrangements for the children.
The family's neighbour Shamsul Huda told Nine News that Ms Hossain was a "good mother".
