Camden Anzac Day services 2019

Camden residents are invited to reflect on the sacrifices of Australian service men and women at the region's annual Anzac Day service.

Camden RSL Sub-branch will hold a dawn service at Camden Bicenntenial Equestrian Park memorial from 5.15am.

Sub-branch president Iain Richard-Evan said the dawn service had become the largest service outside of the Sydney metro area.

"For me, as a returned serviceman and Vietnam veteran, it is humbling to see so many people come to pay their respects," he said.

"When I took over as president about three or four years ago we had 400 people at the service and last year the council estimated that we had 1300."

Mr Richard-Evan said Anzac Day was a time to reflect on the sacrifices made by Australian military personnel.

"It's also a chance to remember the ground army - the women who were at home and threw down their aprons to work in the fields or the factory," he said.

"It's a chance to commemorate what makes Australia the country it is today."

Camden RSL Sub-branch will also host services at Camden Downs Retirement Village on April 23 from 10.30am, at Carrington on April 24 at 10.30am and at Wivenhoe Retirement Village on April 24 at 2.30pm.

Forest Lawn Memorial Park will also hold an ANZAC Day ceremony at 10.30am on April 24.

The event is run in partnership with a number of Ingleburn RSL sub-branches.
