Sam Heazlett and Michael Neser have given Queensland a 37-run lead in the Sheffield Shield clash with Western Australia at the WACA Ground.
After the ball dominated day one with 15 wickets falling, Queensland started Thursday's second day on 5-95 in their first innings in reply to WA's 138.
The Bulls had been 5-66 on Wednesday but Heazlett and Neser were part of an unbeaten 29-run stand by stumps and continued on day two.
The pair put together the biggest partnership of the match, combining for 72 runs before Neser fell for 42, backing up his brilliant 5-15 in 15 overs with the ball.
Mark Steketee (5), Mitch Swepson (4) and Luke Feldman (2) all fell cheaply but Heazlett went on to score the only half-century of the game.
He belted six boundaries and three sixes before being caught on the rope attempting another big hit.
He was out for 68 but that was enough to help Queensland to 175 and hold a 37-run first-innings lead at lunch on the second day.
Debutant Aaron Hardie starred with the ball for WA taking 4-29 in 11.4 overs. He pitched the ball up and achieved good swing with the Dukes ball.
Joel Paris and Matt Kelly picked up two wickets each for the Warriors.
