Some Macarthur residents needed to batten down the hatches after wild weather hit parts of the region this afternoon.
Heavy rain and hail fell in several suburbs, including Narellan and Cobbitty, about 4.15pm on Thursday, March 14.
The Bureau of Meteorology issued a warning for "very dangerous thunderstorms" across parts of Macarthur.
The wild weather was forecast to hit suburbs including Campbelltown, Camden, Leppington, Minto, Macquarie Fields, Nattai, Oakdale and Menangle.
Residents are warned that heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding.
Large hailstones and damaging winds are likely to affect some areas.
