Le Fondre not surprised by A-League goals

Englishman Le Fondre, the league's leading scorer, notched his 11th of the season in Wednesday's 3-1 away defeat, in which Glory bagged all of their goals in the first half.

"We can't dwell on anything, we've just got to move forward into the next game, which is Adelaide (at home on Sunday) and put the performance right there," Le Fondre said.

The 32-year-old forward is the quickest player in A-League history to reach the 10-goal mark in a season.

He has one more than former Sydney striker Bobo did at the same stage last year, with the Brazilian ultimately scoring a competition season record of 27 goals.

Across pre-season friendlies, FFA Cup and A-League fixtures, he has bagged 18 goals in 19 games, failing to find the net in just four matches and never going more than two without scoring.

He's scored in each of his past four matches and isn't surprised at how prolific he's been.

"Not particularly - the start I had in pre-season with the way the boys and the whole club accepted me and made me feel welcome," Le Fondre said.

"Bought me into how the team plays, it suited the way I played and I envisaged myself doing really well here and I'm just happy that it's actually happening how I planned."

He's the only Sydney outfield player to have not missed a single minute of their A-League campaign, a key factor in his hot scoring form.

"I don't think I've started 12 games on the run for it must be years now," he said.

"I've always backed myself when I play games - I score goals."

He has maintained a high strike rate despite Sydney having made fewer successful crosses than any other team in the competition.

"The boys are obviously creating my chances other ways," Le Fondre said.

He slammed the ball home against Perth from just outside the penalty area for a rare long-range score, but said while it was a nice strike it meant nothing in the context of the game.
