There is nothing more Australian than a cold schooner and a sizzling barbecue on Australia Day.

It is even better when you don’t have to do the cooking.

Gledswood Homestead and Winery’s Australia Day Beer & BBQ Festival is the perfect chance to enjoy a few drinks, munch on some tasty barbecue treats and enjoy some fun in the sun.

Gledswood general manager Nadene Clarke said the Januray 26 event would be similar to the Wine All You Want event held last year.

“From 1pm to 11pm we will have a mix of live bands performing classic Aussie rock songs,” she said.

“There will also be barbecue smokers, food trucks, wine tastings, an out door bar and more.”

Ms Clarke said this Australia Day event was different to other celebrations held locally.

“We targeted this event at the 18 and over crowd,” she said.

“Children are welcome but we won’t have any children’s activities.

“We wanted to do something a bit different to the other events held around the area.”

Attendees will be treated to a free glass of beer or wine on arrival along with a sausage sandwich cooked fresh on the barbecue.

“We had a lot of requests to host an event this year similar to Wine All You Want, so that’s what we have tried to do,” she said.

“It’ll be a fun day out and a great chance to relax and enjoy some time with friends.”
