Gutted Brisbane Roar interim coach Darren Davies has disputed a contentious penalty spot kick that turned the match on its head after Perth Glory pulled off a comeback 4-2 A-League win.
Davies had no problem with Roar defender Daniel Bowles receiving a straight red card in the 58th minute for felling Glory standout Joel Chianese.
But he disputed whether first contact with Chianese occurred inside the box after Perth hung on to stay unbeaten away this season and return to the top of the A-League ladder.
"It was a sendoff. I don't have a problem with it. It was a red card," Davies said.
"My question is - is the first contact outside the box? I believe so.
"I think Bowles's hand has gone on to his shoulder outside the box and that's where the foul occurred - it's a free kick."
Instead the referee pointed to the spot and the Glory's Neil Kilkenny struck truly to cut the deficit to 2-1 before a 10-man Roar unravelled in front of 9249 disbelieving Suncorp Stadium fans.
While Bowles may have thought he was unlucky, he arguably had a good day compared to poor Aaron Reardon.
Kilkenny nailed his second from the spot in the 81st minute to level the scores when the VAR ruled a Reardon handball from a Brendon Santalab strike.
Then Reardon's fortunes somehow got worse when he scored an 85th minute own goal to give the visitors a 3-2 lead.
Perth's Andy Keogh landed the final nail in Brisbane's coffin with an 87th minute goal off a classy Chianese cross.
Brisbane's second half was summed up when their first half two-goal hero Adam Taggart missed from the penalty spot in the 91st minute.
The Glory are the A-League's road warriors with five wins and a draw from their six games outside Perth.
But it was just their fourth win in 21 visits to Suncorp Stadium.
The stunning comeback ensured Davies is still without a win after three games at the helm since John Aloisi's shock exit nine days ago.
Brisbane looked on track for only their second win of the season in their 12th game after Taggart's brace gave them a 2-0 halftime lead.
He took his season tally to nine - just one behind Golden Boot leader Sydney FC's Adam Le Fondre.
Dane Ingham set up Taggart who fired truly in the 22nd minute after Glory goalkeeper Liam Reddy collided heavily with teammate Shane Lowry - back from a one game ban - in the lead-up.
Taggart had his second in the 40th minute with a stunning header off a Eric Bautheac corner.
But everything changed when Bowles was marched.
