Time is running out for residents to purchase one of Campbelltown’s iconic Christmas puddings.
More than 1200 festive puddings were made for the Campbelltown Uniting Church’s annual drive, which began last month.
However, project co-ordinator Michael Plummer said about 100 puddings now remained up for sale.
“Our puddings are selling out fast,” he said.
“I’d say you’ll miss out if you haven’t bought your pudding by next Thursday.”
The church has spread the festive spirit for Macarthur residents in the lead-up to each Christmas since 1982.
Mr Plummer said the event was held annually to generate funds for the community.
This year, all money raised will go to Frontier Services to support church ministries in remote NSW.
Mr Plummer said the puddings were always popular and the church’s volunteers had stuck to the same recipe for 36 years.
"I think people enjoy the quality of our dry fruit and we use a nice, high quality brandy,” he said.
“When the dry fruit and brandy are fermenting together, they build nice aromas and the smell is beautiful.
“It gives the puddings a traditional Christmas feel.”
Residents can purchase their festive pudding at Macarthur Square (outside ANZ Bank branch) tomorrow, December 8 from 9am to 4pm.
The Christmas desserts will be on sale again at the church next Tuesday, December 11 until sold out.
Puddings cost $35 for 1.5kg, $25 for 1kg and $15 for 500 grams.
