Firies contain blaze at St Andrews home on Friday afternoon

Macarthur firefighters have extinguished a blaze which broke out in a St Andrews home this afternoon.

St Andrews and Campbelltown Fire and Rescue NSW crews were called out to a fire at a Cupa Street property about 2pm on Friday, October 12.

A St Andrews FRNSW spokeswoman said the fire took close to one hour to contain.

“The fire started in the bedroom,” she said.

“There was one resident home who managed to close the door which contained the fire to the bedroom.”

The spokeswoman said investigations continued but the blaze was possibly caused by an electric blanket fault.
