Usain Bolt coming to Campbelltown Stadium next month

Exciting news for sports fans – Olympic hero Usain Bolt is coming to Campbelltown next month.

The sprinter-turned-soccer player will appear for the Central Coast Mariners in an A-League pre-season match at Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Friday, October 12.

Bolt and the Mariners will face a South West National Premier League Invitational team at 7.30pm, with gates opening from 6.30pm.

The Jamaican superstar is attempting to secure an A-League contract in the trial match.

The big event will also be a trial for the Macarthur South West Sydney A-League bid, with the council and the South West Sydney Football Club combining to try and win a licence to join the country’s top soccer league in the 2019/20 season.

Campbelltown mayor George Brticevic said encouraged all locals to come along and watch the eight-time Olympic gold medallist play his final A-League pre-season game.

“This game is a chance to showcase that our community supports an A-League team playing at Campbelltown Sports Stadium and highlights the merits of our combined Macarthur South West Sydney A-League bid for an A-League license,” he said.

“It will also showcase that our stadium is an ideal home for an A-League side and it is already a proven venue to host these fixtures.

“If our bid for a Macarthur South West Sydney A-League team is successful, our community can expect to watch over 14 A-League games played at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.”

Tickets to the game start at $10 from
