Prepare to take a trip down memory lane in Campbelltown this Sunday.
Residents are encouraged to dress up in their best ‘50s attire for the Campbelltown Vintage Fifties and Collectables Fair at The Cube, Campbelltown Catholic Club.
The fair is Macarthur Health Foundation’s annual fundraiser and CEO Denise McGrath is keen to see plenty of particpants in the the ‘50s fashion parade.
“First prize for best dressed is a classic pearl valued at $800 and people can enter by paying an entry fee at the door,” she said.
Ms McGrath said there would be plenty to keep everybody entertained including vintage furniture and toy stalls, a rock’n’roll music class and a vintage car showcase outside the venue.
“A lot of people like to do some vintage shopping so I encourage people to come down and have a browse around our stalls,” she said.
Ms McGrath said organisers had expanded this year’s event.
“We have started introducing new genres and we plan to make the fair much bigger in the next two to three years,” she said.
“This year’s fair includes a rockabilly theme and we will look at introducing steam punk in 2019.”
All funds raised will go towards supporting ill children in Macarthur.
“Money will go towards purchasing medial equipment to help kids in hospital or community centres,” Ms McGrath said.
The fair will run from 9.30am to 3pm at The Cube on September 16. Entry fee is $7 for adults and $2 for children.
