A south-west Sydney syndicate has been announced as winners of the $2.2 million Lotto ticket purchased in Campbelltown on Saturday.
A winning ticket in Saturday’s $20 million Superdraw was purchased at Campbelltown’s Marketfair Newsagency.
There were nine division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday draw 3873 on September 1 and each successful entry won a division one prize of $2,222,222.23.
The winning Campbelltown entry was purchased at Marketfair Newsagency at Shop 25A Campbelltown Marketfair.
A group of plant operators from south-west Sydney discovered their private syndicate had won $2.2 million in the weekend’s Superdraw.
The syndicate’s leader said it was amazing to share the win with his workmates.
“There’s about 16 of us in the syndicate so this is brilliant for all of us,” he said.
“I checked the numbers online and didn’t think this ticket was a winner, so I was going to chuck it out but thought I should double check it first. I am so glad I did.
“We will definitely go out and celebrate.”
Marketfair Newsagency owner Robert Bui said he was thrilled to have sold another division one winning entry.
“It is the fourth division one winning entry we have sold since owning the shop with the last one sold in 2016,” he said.
“It’s great to have another one and we can’t wait to have some more wins.”
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 3873 on September 1 were 36, 16, 14, 10, 43 and 5, while the supplementary numbers were 19 and 18.
