Do you have what it takes to be crowned Macarthur’s next ultimate warrior?
Locals will have the chance to find out when the Ultimate Warrior Macarthur Challenge is held in Campbelltown next month.
Ultimate Fitness Training Campbelltown director Luke Griffin said the competition would be similar to popular television show Australian Ninja Warrior.
Griffin said participants had just minutes to complete a grueling 11-obstacle course.
“People often watch Ninja Warrior while sitting on their lounge and say ‘I could do that’,” he said.
“Our challenge is all about bringing people together to try and see if they can conquer the course.
“It’s all about testing yourself and it doesn’t matter how fit you are.”
Griffin, who has 17 years of personal training experience, said he had planned the challenge for the past six months.
He said the obstacle course would include his own twist on the popular warped wall and salmon ladder challenges.
“Everybody who completes the challenge will receive the Ultimate Warrior Medal,” Griffin said.
“People can expect it to be a mental and physical challenge, but anybody can have a crack at doing it.
"If this challenge goes well, we will look to hold another one with different obstacles in four months' time."
Griffin said he had long been interested in Australian Ninja Warrior and had auditioned to compete on the show for the past two years.
“You need to be strong in all areas [of fitness] to succeed on the show,” he said.
“People can train really hard and be able to lift heavy weights but then they struggle on Ninja Warrior.
“Ninja Warrior is so popular because it shares the stories of people overcoming their problems and conquering the course.”
The Ultimate Warrior Macarthur Challenge will be held on September 16 at Ultimate Fitness Training Campbelltown.
More details about the obstacle course will be revealed over the coming weeks on the UFT Australia Facebook page.
