Rugby league fans across NSW will tune in to their radios and learn the names of Macarthur players next month.
Group 6 Country Rugby League has announced ABC Grandstand will broadcast the first grade grand final from Campbelltown Stadium on September 16.
Group 6 executive director Stephen Hazelton said the ABC Grandstand team would “shine the spotlight” on local rugby league through its grand final day broadcast.
Hazelton said this year’s Group 6 first grade competition was “one of the most open in recent years”.
“Any of the five teams in contention could lift the Norman L Day Cup on grand final day,” he said.
“This will only enhance the coverage being provided across NSW and online by ABC Grandstand.”
Group 6 media officer Mike Shean said he looked forward to seeing the ABC Grandstand commentary team in Campbelltown.
“The quality of football on display in the grand final will be a highlight,” he said.
Shean said the ABC commentary team for the Group 6 grand final had not yet been announced.
However, he said well-known Grandstand commentators Andrew Moore and Andrew Ryan could make an appearance at Campbelltown Stadium.
