Is your child interested in playing indoor soccer?
A new indoor soccer competition called Football Star is set to launch in Macquarie Fields this afternoon.
The competition is open for children aged under 10 years and is a chance for participants to learn more about the sport.
Football Star organiser Marty Savage said the competition would run for 15 weeks.
“It’s a good chance to get kids aged under 10 involved in indoor soccer,” he said.
“Football Star has generated a lot of interest so far and it’s all about learning the basics of indoor soccer.
“It’s an opportunity to have a bit of fun and no experience is needed.”
Savage said the competition had attracted enough players to fill three teams.
“But we want to get more teams involved so we can run a proper competition,” he said.
The format for the competition is five players per side and matches are split into two 13-minute halves.
Registration is $40 per person and participants then pay $15 to play each week.
“If a registered player refers a friend, they will get a $5 discount for their first game,” Savage said.
Matches begin at 4pm August 15 and will be held at the Macquarie Fields Indoor Sports Stadium.
