Inaugural Macarthur Multicultural Children’s Festival a success | photos

Mermaids, hula dancers, henna tattoos and more – the inaugural Macarthur Multicultural Children’s Festival was an absolute winner at the weekend.

The event at Koshigaya Park was the first of its kind held in Macarthur, after successful appearances in Bankstown and Sydney in previous years.

Event sponsor Brian Laul – of Wizard of Oz Funland at Leumueah – said the festival was a great way to foster better understanding between the region’s many and varied cultural groups.

“The Macarthur Multicultural Children’s Festival opens up a connection and a dialogue between people of different cultures,” he said.

Mr Laul was thrilled with the success of the first event on Sunday.

“It was really a fantastic and emotional day as our community came out in strength to celebrate our cultural diversity,” he said.
