Mayor Judith Hannan is still waiting for 2GB radio shock Alan Jones to take up her challenge.
Cr Hannan has asked the radio host to come out to the shire via public transport and meet her.
By travelling via public transport, the mayor wants Mr Jones to realise the shire has insufficient transport hence her campaign for better rail services.
The challenge was issued after Mr Jones publicly criticised the mayor last month about her stance on the Wilton New Town development.
Wollondilly Council withdrew its in-principal support for the Wilton New Town development until it gets assurances on key planning issues including public transport, a health precinct and employment.
Mr Jones criticised the mayor for “standing in the way” of progress on the development and believes houses need to be built.
Cr Hannan has rejected the simplistic notion put forward by Mr Jones that building more houses at Wilton, without resolving planning and environmental issues, is the best way to solve Sydney’s housing affordability crisis.
The mayor wants to have a reasonable discussion with the radio host to talk about the issues affecting the shire.
