Locals will no longer be able to pick up Starburst lollies at Coles.
The supermarket giant has removed the popular confectionery brand from its shelves due to “poor sales”.
The axing comes after Woolworths removed the range in 2015.
The range of lollies includes the iconic square fruit chews, lollipops, gummies and snakes.
Disappointed ‘sweet tooths’ took to social media to complain about the decision.
“Unfortunately we can confirm that Starburst varieties have been removed from our national range,” a Coles spokesperson wrote in response to a consumer’s Facebook query.
“We understand how frustrating it can be to see a favourite product disappear from the shelf and we can assure you that this decision is not one made lightly.”
The spokesperson said in another comment that the decision was made to make way for other brands.
A Change.org petition has been created in a bid for Coles and Woolworths to restock the Starburst range.
Locals can still pick up bags of Starburst at IGA supermarkets or Big W stores.
