Baseballs upcoming stars will flock to Milton Park in Ingleburn this month to compete in NSW Little League Majors and Minors Player Pitch State Championships.
Macarthur Baseball League president Shannon Bickel said they were honoured to host the prestigious event from April 19 to April 22.
“Successful teams will qualify for the Australian Little League Championships in Lismore NSW, giving them an opportunity to represent Australia at the Little League World Series in the USA later in the year,” he said.
“Macarthur have had Little League teams compete at the national level for the past two years and are looking forward to another great team of upcoming stars to make it three consecutive years.”
The tournament is expected to attract more than 1000 players, families and officials from all over NSW.
Teams participating will travel from areas as far as the central coast, Newcastle and Wollongong.
“There will be six Little League games playing across four time slots on each day, so as you can see it is quite a significant event,” Mr Bickel said.
“We will have awesome canteen facilities featuring menu items from our great sponsors at Outback Steakhouse, Campbelltown.”
The opening ceremony will be held at 2pm on Thursday, April 19 at Milton Park, followed by both the Macarthur Little League team and the Macarthur U10/11 Little League teams playing their first games of the tournament at 5:30pm.
These games will be followed by a fireworks spectacular.
They will also be live streamed on the Macarthur Baseball League Facebook page and broadcast on Macarthur Sports Radio.
