Three days after Gail Whiting’s house went on the market, it was sold.
The then-Leumeah resident had been dreading the whole process of selling up and moving away.
She had just lost her job and was struggling to pay the mortgage.
But then she found Sellable – a company offering a new, innovative way to sell houses.
Sellable gave her a figure they believed the house would sell for, told her they would pay the money upfront and promised to handle all the processes that were causing her stress.
Ms Whiting couldn’t believe her luck and had zero regrets in her alternative method of moving house.
“I didn’t have to worry about anything,” she said. “They took care of everything – they put the house on the market, they spruced it up and they took care of the mortgage payment. It was no stress, no worries.”
Sellable chief executive Justus Hammer told the Advertiser the company was all about making selling houses easier.

“Selling your home can be one of the most stressful events in life,” he said.
“We alleviate that stress. We give customers a guaranteed quote within 24-48 hours based on an independent valuation, and that will be paid as soon as the owner hands over the keys.”
Sellable will also put money into the property to work on aspects that will make the house more attractive to prospective buyers.
Renovations include landscaping works, kitchen repairs, repainting and other aesthetic works.
Sellable invested $20,000 in renovations to Ms Whiting’s house.
The original valuation of $529,000 (Ms Whiting’s guaranteed price) was exceeded by $61,000 when the property sold.
Sellable takes 25 per cent of the upside, leaving Ms Whiting with an extra $45,750 to spend on her new house in Cootamundra.
The whole process took two weeks.
“If you’re willing to give Sellable a little more than you would a regular agent, it’s just so much easier,” she said. “It you’re a young family selling up, both parents working and not a lot of time on your hands, I would definitely recommend Sellable.”
